Hotel Belvedere - Lovere

Very friendly and helpful staff; great food, esp. The pizza was first- class and more. Supermarket very close and only 5mins walk into centre of town.

The hotel is close to a very busy main road, once we closed the windows at night , this was fine.

Very good service. Clean and cosy rooms. Very good real italian restaurant.

Continental breakfast was quite modest, but it didn't bother us because we ate very good dinner every evening in hotel restaurant. So there wasn't really any need for bigger breakfast in the morning.

Nice hotel

Located directly on the lake - but swimming in the lake is not possible in Lovere. Wifi does not work in the more remote rooms.

Lovere is a very pleasant town on Lake Iseo and a good base for lake and mountain days out, the Belvedere provides reasonable, basic, budget priced accomodation for this area. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms well serviced on a daily basis.The town centre and boat pier are a ten minute walk away (which is a beatiful one alongside the lake promenade)but there are also bars and restaurants a few moments away.It is only about an hour or so bus ride from Bergamo station by bus and the service is quite frequent , we flew from Stansted on Ryanair to spend 3 days here on what was our second visit.do go on the lake for a day if you can !

We had as a group of six friends , three rooms , the front double room was nice, the other 2 twin rooms were small and rather sparse but we all agreed the hotel was a base from which to have a lovely 4 days in Lombardy. A little more finish on the smaller rooms would improve matters a lot. It is a great pity there is no bus stop here as most services through the town pass the hotel and if you have luggage it is a good ten minute walk from the central stop.

The location was good.Just over the road is the lake so there was a lovely view of the lake and the mountains. The 2 men who appeared to run it were friendly and helpful . It was very clean and it was realatively cheap.

I felt that the room could have been a bit more cheerfully decorated especially as we arrived in the rain! There was a lovely big balcony overlooking the road and lake but it would have been nice if there had been a few colourful plants on it. The breakfast could have included some cereal as it just consisted of bread, croissants and those packets of toast that Italians seem to love! And it would have been nice to have had a buffet type breakfast where you could just serve yourself. There was a bit of a musty smell in the hotel. It was fine for those on a budget but we would have preferred to have paid a bit more for these "extras".

Good location with public paking close. Beakfast and evening meal OK. Nice room with balcony.

Very good ratio price / service. Rooms were tidy, we had a beuatiful view of the lake, mountains beside. Staff were very helpful even when the English level was not so great.

Sometimes it got noisy in the cordiors in the evening, but it was not a problem of the hotel, those were selfish guests returning probbaly from pub. And it was not every night.

Hotel is right on the lake and a 2 minute walk from the centre of town. A beautiful little Italian town.

The staff is nice. Good restaurant. Easy to find.

1) connection with Pisogne railway station is very bad. The last ferry from Pisogne to Lovere is around 17.30. Very few buses connecting Lovere with other cities. (It looks it is going to become better in summer). 2) the mattress on the bed was not nice.

easy parking. but do not park friday night against saturday across the the street because in saturday there is a market and you car is gone. police wants 40 euros and the man how is gonna bring your car back 120 euros hotel staff is exelent and helpful

Stay away from this hotel! Our room stank very strongly of old cigarette smoke, although we booked an non smoker room. And the room itself was for no smokers (it war written in italian). The bathroom stank even stronger. It made you feel ill. I still have the stank in my nose. Never ever again there! It was a nightmare - dark, old furniture from the 60- ies at least, window looking to a wall 2 meters away, no sky to see. The mattresses were very old (the springy type) and sank in the middle so you fell into a hole. We kept the window slightly open, but sometime in the late evening they stopped the heating (november!!). The pictures on Booked.net are 100% photoshopped - the rooms there look so bright, new and comfy, with super view (like the name of the hotel suggests) - nothing near the reality! The most uncomfortable hotel ever! If we hadn't had prepaid it without seeing it live (and the reviews were not so bad) we would have never taken a room there. Even if for free! Even against pay! Better pay some additional 10 € for a decent room in another hotel. I don't know how they pass the state inspections (if there are any at all in Italy). The breakfast costs extra 2,50 € P.P. and was also the worst ever. Only half an old cold croissant, those small packages of toasts, butter and marmalade, limited pieces also. If I knew I would rather go to a near snackshop and buy something eatable... Otherwise the town is very very beautiful. I recommend it. But stay away from "Bel"vedere.
